University degree in engineering or science, preferably in electrical engineering or computer science
Fluent command of the English language, spoken and written.
Command of German language is a help, but not mandatory.
3 years of work experience as a patent professional.
Qualification as a European Patent Attorney or a similar qualification would be a strong plus, but is also not mandatory.

Secure non-infringement of third parties intellectual property rights, in particular support the development to provide results free of patent infringements – ensure freedom to operate
Identify inventions created by HELLA employees during their development, guidanceand supervision of filing and prosecution of corresponding patent applications.
Communicate with local development to guide them regarding intellectual property, e.g. communicate risks and help to find a solution to circumvent a blocking patent.
Provide full service intellectual property support to local development.
Get involved in the support of the development at the headquarter in Germany as well which closely cooperates with the development in Romania.
Cooperate with patent professionals in various countries to handle projects having a global development scope.
Guide patent researchers to enable them to find prior art and potentially disturbing patents.
Instruct external attorneys to draft and file patents and to guide them during prosecution.
