Remote Team Technical Director

Amber Bucharest is looking for a Remote Team Technical Director to join our local team. Are you ready for this professional challenge? JOB PURPOSE: Amber Bucharest is looking for a passionate, experienced Remote Team Technical Director to join our multinational game development agency. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Oversee 1 to 4 technical projects developed by a remote team – can be in house or an external partner studio.
• You will participate in hiring / validation of engineers for the team
• Be the technical liaison with the Head of International Engineering
• Be the technical liaison with the producers, the client and the local team (in case of a co-dev)
• Review architectures produced by the remote teams
• Code review and assess the performance of the remote team
• Spread best development practices
• Help with setting up build systems and metrics
• Participate in Kaizen processes to improve remote engineering management best practices

• Code day by day side by side with the team
• Manage the schedule or the prioritization of backlog, although you will advocate the inclusion of technical tasks / best practices in the product backlog
• Performance appraisals / HR management for the remote team members – they will have their own team leader who will be your main technical point of contact with the project

• Game development experience – Unity, Custom Engine or Unreal
• Strong game architecture experience
• Strong technical expertise and engineering management expertise
• Strong expertise in engineering best practices
• Strong soft skills and communication skills – both verbal and in writing
• Strong urge to succeed, people orientation, and a strong drive for self improvement
• Strong English skills
