    Requirements

    Work experience:
    Minimum 2 years of experience in database administration (especially Oracle);
    Minimum 2 years of experience in designing and implementing high availability database solutions;
    Minimum 1 year of experience with Exadata systems.

    Education requirements:
    Bachelor’s degree in technical / IT field of study.

    Responsibilities

    Main Responsibilities:
    Performs database management, ensures data integrity and security and designs database solutions based on client requirements;
    Responsible for the installation, configuration, and operation of the Oracle databases;
    Develops and maintains installation, configuration, and operational documentation for databases;
    Implements security plans for each database server;
    Develops, tests, and implements database backup and recovery strategies;
    In high-availability configurations, configures and manages fail over clustering, linked servers, log shipping (stand-by servers) and replication;
    Develops and implements the monitoring strategy for databases;
    Performs software installation, upgrades, and installs database patches;
    Assists in database maintenance in areas such as access methods, validation checks, protection and security, documentation guidelines;
    Executes daily/weekly/monthly maintenance activities according to the respective procedures;
    Participates in implementation of new projects related to supported databases;
    Develops new utilities and tools for internal requirements;
    Performs database administration knowledge transfer to new colleagues;
    Cooperates with the application administrators;
    Cooperates with application and system software vendors.

    Specific Responsibilities:
    Troubleshoots and solves database related incidents to minimize end-user impact;
    Monitors database performance KPIs;
    Performs database capacity planning;
    Creates and manages database users/accounts;
    Understanding of key Exadata features including Hybrid Columnar Compression, Exadata Smart Flash Cache, Exadata Storage Index and Exadata Storage Management & Administration;
    Exposure to Exadata Hardware Architecture including Database Grid, Storage Grid and InfiniBand;
    Exposure to Exadata Configurations;
    Experience on migrating existing Oracle databases into Exadata;
    Software and firmware maintenance of Exadata Storage Cells, including upgrades and patching;
    Software and firmware maintenance of InfiniBand switches, including upgrades and patching.
