Senior Site Reliability and DevOps Engineer

Romania has a significant pool of highly trained engineering professionals and so we are very excited to build operations in both Bucharest and Cluj.

• Bachelor’s Degree
• Prior experience with AWS or Google or Azure cloud infrastructure automation and DevOps workflows
• Install, upgrade, maintain all necessary middleware components within Kubernetes (EMR, EKS, AKS, on-premise) and other cloud services necessary for application and service operations
• Professional experience with cloud environments (AWS certification preferred)
• Strong knowledge and experience working in Linux/Unix environment
• Experience with infrastructure as code tools (Terraform, Ansible, Puppet, Chef, etc)
• Experience with centralized logging solutions (Splunk, Elk, etc)
• Knowledge of active monitoring (Datadog, New Relic etc)
• Understanding of security best practices
• Experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, Gitlab, etc)
• Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases
• Understanding of git
• Knowledge of networking principles such as firewalls, load balancing, routing and switching
• Knowledge of horizontal and vertical scaling best practices
• Experience in CI/CD Pipeline Ecosystem - maintain and expand upon the CI/CD ecosystem
• Experience in managing the Development and Production (Kubernetes clusters and other cloud services) as well as the CI/CD ecosystem
• Strong experience with AWS cloud technologies
• Preferred AWS Certified Developer or AWS Certified SysOps Administrator
• Experience with 2-3 technology products or services at a subject matter expert level. Technologies can include AWS, Python, Terraform, Chef, Puppet, Github, Git, Docker, Kubernetes, etc.
• Experience with programming/scripting languages such as Python, Java, Go, or Bash
Preferred:
• Minimum 5 years of experience managing strategic projects
• Excellent written and verbal communication
• Comfortable making decisions with limited data
• Entrepreneurial minded and driven self-starter with extensive experience in an agile/adaptable environment and demonstrated success.
• Relevant experience in working for (or with) a consumer start-up preferred, not required.

• Coordinate with development leadership to determine and build technology solution in AWS environment
• Build, deploy and maintain AWS cloud infrastructure
• Manage application and infrastructure scalability, availability, and performance
• Enhance monitoring and alerting of the platform, infrastructure, endpoints for reporting
• Routinely monitor and report on performance
• Provide technical leadership, guidance, and oversight into the implementation of infrastructure by being involved in planning, execution, and review stages
• Take ownership and strive for technical excellence
• Inspire other people to work with you while mentoring and coaching junior engineers
• Collaborate with SRE CoE in defining best practices and company standards.
• Review and correct code for quality and design through code reviews, and constant evaluation of existing infrastructure code
• Support services before they go live through activities such as system design consulting, developing frameworks, capacity planning, and launch reviews
• Practice sustainable incident response and blameless postmortems
