React Developer for SMB Product Romania team in Hosting

About the team
1&1 SMB Product Romania's mission is to make great website design and online presence accessible for busy SMB owners by building a do-it-yourself website-builder product that will be used by 100s of thousands of customers that generate millions of visits on the websites they create. Customer-centricity and design-driven product work are our DNA. Our outlook is to serve and enable millions of SMB owners and individuals to build their online presence dream. You will join a newly formed squad with the mission of renovating a PHP-built department core product with over half a million customers and migrating it into our latest React & NodeJS-built 2020-launched application. Following the migration of the PHP-built product (~1-2 years) the focus of the squad will switch completely to working on the new React & NodeJS-built product so important personal development and learning opportunities will appear together with a deep dive into the JavaScript universe. You will have the opportunity to be part of and influence architectural decisions, build a cohesive ecosystem of microservices that will ultimately provide customers with a highly-scalable and highly-available platform to make their dream on the web.

Main responsibilities:

• Join a cross-functional agile team and be responsible for migrating the department core product
• Analyze requirements, clarify details and assess effort and impact
• Perform bug fixes, hotfixes, patches and security fixes when needed
• Write quality code and adhere to best practices and respected standards in the industry
• Work with complex data structures

• Minimum 3 years of previous experience in Software Development
• Proficiency in JavaScript with a focus on the React library
• In-depth experience with HTML/CSS
• Good understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle
• Highly motivated and self-driven
• Team player with excellent communication skills
• Full professional proficiency in English

• Experience with other JavaScript frameworks - Node.js, Angular, jQuery, Redux
• Experience with a continuous integration tool such as Jenkins
• Previous experience of working with/implementing GraphQL APIs
• Good understanding of unit testing principles and frameworks (e.g., Mocha, Jest, Enzyme, etc.)
• Previous experience with TypeScript and Webpack
• Familiarity with databases and Docker containers
• Experience working in an Agile development environment
