QA Software Engineer

What will you contribute?
As a member of Cheque Technologies Quality Engineering team, the QA Engineer will work in an Agile environment with a distributed team to create and executing test cases for projects, report the . QA Automation Engineer will work closely together with the assigned project scrum team and be an integral part of product delivery from planning to release.

Required skills and experience:
• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in in Computer science or related area of study
• 1+ years of experience software testing experience
• Applied knowledge of QA methodology
• Ability to manage priorities and conflicting timelines and work in a fast-paced environment with firm deadlines
• Experience with manual test case writing, regression testing, smoke testing and reporting
• Ability to execute test plans for software applications, document expected results vs. actual results, and record software defects
• Knowledge of quality assurance methods and techniques including the software development lifecycle
• Experience using Agile methodologies
• Excellent interpersonal communication skills
• A sense of ownership and pride in your performance and its impact on the company’s success

• Team player
• Good time-management skills

Nice to have skills:
• Automation testing experience or desire to learn

Your deliverables as a QA Engineer will include, but will not be limited to:
• Work with the project scrum team to design, implement and execute an effective test strategy
• Work with the project scrum team to plan, analyze and estimate user stories
• Create/review/update test case/test plans and test cases from product specifications and requirements
• Participates in planning/grooming meetings and analyzes user needs to determine testing requirements
• Executes test plans and test cases (manual and automation) and compiles results
• Logs, tracks defects from detection to resolution and works with developers to reproduce and resolve defects
• Provides QA support to stakeholders prior to the release of software
• Track manual testing progress and report back to scrum team and manager
