Linux System Administrator

The company comprises 2 divisions specialized on its core capabilities: ENGINEERING and IT. These two divisions are: ALTEN TECHNO and ALTEN IT.

• Degree in Computer Science or relevant education/experience
• Proficiency in cloud technologies such as AWS tools
• Experience with configuration management tools such as Ansible
• Experience with virtualization/containerization for both development and production environments such as Docker
• Experience troubleshooting SQL and noSQL databases
• Experience in using features such as sharding and replication
• Experience with Linux & Web Services, such as apache/nginx/mysql
• Setting up monitoring systems and alerts in Nagios and Zabbix
• Networking and tunneling knowledge
• Excellent English written and verbal communication skills
• Effective organizational skills to support a consistently high standard of operations
• Scripting skills in at least one language such as BASH, Perl and Python
• Excellent troubleshooting skills and a commitment to document findings
• Be proactive, develop new skills and improve existing ones
• Share knowledge with team members
• Strong collaborative skills
• Motivated self-starter, able to be highly productive working alone or in a team. Must work well with limited supervision, capable of handle multiple priorities and able to thrive in a fast paced environment
• Systematic, organized, precise and hands-on
• Fluent in English speaking and writing

• Identify and troubleshoot platform issues
• Monitor performance and reliability of Linux systems and services
• Monitor performance and reliability of Elasticsearch, Redis and MySQL/MariaDB databases and services
• Build and support AWS and private virtual infrastructure (VMWare)
• Work with development, staging, QA, and production environments deploying software throughout the software lifecycle
• Support the continuous integration infrastructure
