This position is based in Bucharest, Romania and will report to US and Romanian management teams.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s degree
Strong written and verbal communication skills, including visual presentation skills, are critical to success
Ability to clearly communicate complex technical idea effectively, regardless of technical capacity of the audience, and bridge the understanding between business and technology
Must be well-versed in data modeling concepts – conceptual, logical and physical, including dimensional modeling
Experience as a Data Modeler on data warehouse projects, including data marts
Understanding or familiarity of database systems – MS SQL Server, MySQL, No SQL is a plus
Ability to write SQL queries for data discovery and data validation
Experience working with data mapping template
Experience with ERWin or other data modeling software
Familiar with ETL tools such as Informatica, Talend is preferred
Additional experience as Business Analyst and Data Analyst is preferred
Significant financial or retirement services background
Experience working in Agile organizations – preferably SAFe with CICD practices
Strong problem solving skills
Self-starter, with the ability to take ownership of tasks with limited supervision
Strong inter-personal skills and ability to work as part of a team
Comfortable working in ambiguity, within a fast-paced environment with a high degree of urgency

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Communicate with stakeholders to perform business analysis and data analysis as required
Translate business logic into rules as appropriate
Translate and transform business and data requirements into data models (conceptual, logical and forward engineered to 3rd normal form physical)
Analyze and profile source system data using profiling tools
Evaluate existing data through SQL queries, reports and other methods to understand the data, and develop the data model appropriately
Design data models in data modeling tools (e.g. ERWin) and create/maintain appropriate documentation
Document data mapping and data discovery
Develop and maintain logical data models; work with Database team on physical designs and documentation
Develop initial DDL through ERWin tool and transition to database team
Partner with DBAs and SQL developers during the process of creating the first level physical design and views as needed
Documentation and maintenance of knowledge base as required
Conduct data model walkthrough and design reviews with both technical team members include DBAs, SQL Developers, ETL Developers and programmers
Conduct model walkthroughs with the business and technology partners in other organizations
