SAP Basis Administrator

As a provider of internal IT services for METRO GROUP, METRO SYSTEMS Romania provides specialized consulting to retail companies in all aspects of IT, develops specific solutions along the full value chain and provides a powerful IT infrastructure with a team of over 900 IT professionals.

What we’re looking for?

At least 3 years professional experience in the area of SAP Technology, ideally supplemented by a SAP Technology Consultant certification;
AIX/Oracle based SAP landscapes;
SAP Netweaver ABAP and Java Stack, ITS, Business Connector, TREX;
Monitoring and Performance Analysis;
SAP Lifecycle Management: Support Packages, Enhancement Packages, Add-Ons, Upgrades;
Operations: Spool Management, Job Scheduling, Transport Management;
System copies, Client and SAP System landscape design Export/Import of SAP databases;
Interface to SAP: Licenses, Calls, Keys, Landscape;
Database maintenance, software management and operation;
Operating system: general Unix and command line usage including shell scripting;
Network know-how and basic understanding of firewalls, SAN and encrypted data transfers;
Advanced skills in engineering system architectures;
Preferably, University degree with focus on information technology or comparable education.

Participated cooperatively on a team of SAP BASIS Administrator Professionals;
Performed system design, hardware/software implementation;
Prepared documentation for current and future systems projects;
Engineering, monitoring, maintaining, troubleshooting, and deploying Backup & Disaster Recovery;
Implemented, maintained and operated a complex SAP System Infrastructure;
Offered Technical support for internal customers regarding SAP Technology Solutions;
Optimized system performance and proactive monitoring;
Created operation and support concepts as well as corresponding documentation;
Technical 2nd and 3rd Level Support;
Identified and implemented high availability architectures for infrastructure processes that are identified to have single points of failure;
Provided advice and consulting support to the project teams directly or through team members;
Drove continuous improvement in service delivery processes to accelerate provisioning of new systems;
Identified the required architecture components and frameworks. Prioritized the architecture deliverables and establish short term, mid-term and long term plans;
Offered Technical support for internal clients regarding SAP Technology Solutions;
Strong interpersonal and self-leadership skills.

Highly appreciated:

A BA/BS degree in Computer Science, Engineering;
Experience with Linux/AIX administration and maintenance would be a plus;
Experience with S4/Hana installations and GCP;
Experience with EMC/Dell DD Boost; Commvault Simpana;
Experience designing and documenting processes and procedures;
Strong oral and written communication skills;
Ability to interface effectively with all levels of the organization;
