System Engineer in Switzerland

Requirements:

- Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field
- At least 2 years of experience as System engineer in one of the following industries: Automotive, Aerospace, Air Defense, Railway
- Knowledge with the requirements management and design tools: POLARION, IBM Rational DOORS, Enterprise Architect
- Knowledge in Matlab, UML, SysML, Simulink, Visual Basic and Model-based Design
- Fluent in English speaking and written and one of the following languages: Italian/ German

Responsibilities:

- Manage and monitor all infrastructure and system installations, including configurations, testing, and maintenance
- Implement and maintain backups, security, and redundancy strategies
- Plan various engineering design aspects of (sub)systems projects to support safety and efficiency of operations and maintenance activities. Interpretation of reviews and approval of design submittals, including drawings, descriptions and schematics
- Identify potential issues and integrate possible solutions
- Enable faster and smarter business processes and implement analytics
- Engage with upper management regularly with reports on project status, activities, and achievements
- Communicate with stakeholders to identify what they want a system to accomplish
- Use expert-level administration and optimization of hosts and servers to ensure high availability and appropriate resource management
- Standardize and automate processes and monitoring using scripting technology
- Install and configure operating systems, software, and hardware components, and clearly document the design, maintenance, and support procedures for routine tasks
- Routinely test software for bugs, redundancies, and security issues
- Conduct high-level root-cause analysis for service interruption and establish preventive measures
- Create reports and documentation outlining findings and solutions; oversee the overall backup strategy and daily operations for secure backups and restore testing
