Description

Mission:

Provide the Safety Case for a project.

Planning and coordination of the functional safety activities in the development phases of the of the product safety lifecycle.

Main Responsibilities:

Assure the definition of safety goals and collect the evidences for compliance of the product with the safety goals.

Assure the definition of project safety responsibilities for entire system and subsystems and detailed responsibilities (if necessary, delegation or grouping of activities)

Project coordination and planning of organizational safety activities in coordination with BU Safety Manager (preparation and updating of project safety plan), including the planning of the following activities:

Assure adequate tailoring of development process and the relevant safety activities;

Initiation and planning of Assessments of Functional Safety (scheduling, timing, organization);

Initiation of escalation process in the case of unsatisfactory assessments;

Application of measures for the avoidance of systematic non-conformances;

Initiation of verification and validation planning and associated measures;

Assure planning and tracking of work products which are part of the Safety Case.

Managing of all safety relevant internal and external interfaces (e.g. with customers, suppliers and other development partner).

Cooperation with BU Safety Manager on process tailoring and improvement. Cooperation with QM in the various development phases with respect to process, project, and product.

<li> System Object Review Protocols

<li> FSM project reviews and FSM Review Reports

<li> DIA: Development Interface Agreement

<li> Plan Functional Safety Aspects of Project

<li> Track and Report Functional Safety Status

Qualifications

<li> Knowledge and Capabilities required:

<li> Knowledge in ISO 26262 (advanced);

<li> Understanding of technologies used (advanced);

<li> Moderation skills (advanced);

<li> Communication skills (advanced);

<li> Project management skills (basic);

<li> Knowledge in SW development (basic);

<li> Knowledge in HW development (basic);

<li> Knowledge in technical risk analyses, e.g. FMEA, FMEDA, FTA, ...;

<li> The PFSM reports to the Project Manager and the BU FSM monthly (informally, in writing);

<li> Legal requirements/Liability (advanced).
