    Role Profile:

As the EUC VDI Infrastructure Specialist, the role will be responsible for reviewing and developing the delivery of the Global corporate Windows 10 Virtual desktop, Citrix environment and supporting infrastructure.

    Key responsibilities of the role:

The successful candidate will have strong in-depth knowledge of the whole EUC stack including Win 10 design, optimisation and delivery through the non-persistent Citrix VDI.  They will also have good experience with all Citrix products, surrounding technologies such as Ivanti suite, App-V delivery, FSLogix, O363 and a good understanding of Hypervisors, Storage and networking technologies.

You will be reviewing the current design and making recommendations to the production Win 10 desktop to enhance and maintain the current performance along with creating future releases of the desktop image utilising MDT. You will have strong analysis skills and the ability to work with 3rd parties, vendors and be able to work with staff at all levels up to and including senior management.

We have recently undergone a desktop transformation moving away from a legacy Xenapp 6.5 shared desktop running 2008r2 to a Windows 10 (currently 1809) VDI.

As we have started migrating all of our exchange environment to Office 365 to promote collaborative working with tools available such as Teams, OneDrive, Skype for Business etc, we are utilising technologies such as FSLogix to maximise the users experience to co exist with a non persistent VDI.

We use all things Citrix so experience with XenApp, PVS, Storefront, Netscalers (external access and application load balancing) is a must.  We have a cloud first strategy and host our control layer in azure with Citrix so knowledge/experience is highly desirable.

Personalisation, application and performance management is managed by GPO and citrix policies, but we use Ivanti Workspace (Appsense) predominantly so production experience in this is essential.

Applications are delivered to the desktop by App-V, we do have a team who are responsible for this, but knowledge of the supporting infrastructure is a requirement.
