    Requirements

    Qualifications and Skill Set

    -A Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science
    -Good knowledge and experience with Java 8 or higher
    -Working experience in SaaS products and cloud platforms in general
    -Experience with SQL and databases (MS SQL Server or Oracle) and Hibernate
    -Familiar with application containers WebLogic, WebSphere and/or JBoss
    -Knowledge of Subversion, Jira, Confluence, TeamCity
    -Experience in agile/SCRUM environment
    -Excellent communication skills in English, written and verbal
    -Some knowledge of Test Driven Development is an asset.

    Responsibilities

    We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer with proven experience in creating Java applications in a SaaS oriented environment. Your primary focus will be building, maintaining and enhancing the Wolters Kluwer’s next-generation SaaS offering for our new regulatory software product line.

    You will be engaging with our development teams consisting out of an ideal mix of in-depth functional and technical experts. Expect a setting where Agile/SCRUM is the prevailing software development methodology with a high focus on technical expertise, communication and team dynamic.

    With this new unified regulatory platform we will be targeting our worldwide customer base which consists predominantly out of finance and banking institutions.

    Your responsibilities:

    -Develop new functionality and maintain/improve existing features
    -Design and develop high quality, high performance and secure software applications using the latest technologies, innovations and software best practices
    -Develop applications with a creative and technical mind, to overcome the additional complexity of a cloud deployment including technical features such as scaling and resilience
    -Ensure there is a user-friendly and easy to use monitoring and diagnostics toolkit
    -Leverage the functionality and capabilities provided by cloud platforms and focus on delivering business value to the customers
    -Analyse product requirements and design solutions according to company standards and techniques
    -Contribute to estimating development efforts
    -Participate in peer code reviews (using tooling), customer support etc.
