- Perform structural dimensioning and calculation for Reinforced Concrete Structures (precast or cast-in-situ) and Steel Structures. The Senior engineer should be proficient in at least one field (reinforced concrete or steel calculations)
- Produce and Coordinate DTAC, PTh, DDE – Structural Written Specifications documentations with Bills of Quantities for projects
- Attend Site coordination meetings and site supervision visits if required by clients
- Coordinate with MEP Engineering disciplines and Architects or other engineering disciplines
- Able to work in tight deadlines and organize the team of junior or BIM CAD engineers
- A typical Senior Structural Engineer should be able to take a project form concept through all phase to completion on site with his assigned team of engineers
- He is expected to perform production times other than meetings and emails in a split of calculations, and some drawing in a percentage of 50% time for each task: 50 % Calculus – 50% Drawings and Production Information
- Client and other meetings interface on a regular basis representing the company
- Experience in working with 3D CAD packages such as Tekla or Revit
- Manage projects using applicable project management tools
- Follow in full the document control and QA processes relevant to project work, ensuring drawings, specifications, reports and correspondence are issued, and filed / archived in an appropriate manner
- Assist others in compiling design specification within given deadlines, including checking compliance with the project brief through calculation and cross reference of manufacturers literature; ensuring all relevant standards and guides are used as reference with the design specification
- Organize and carry out detailed structural designs and local legislation standards, ensuring safety in design, QA and technical review and sign off by project leader, including complex calculations and co-ordination issues
- Incorporate appropriate sustainability and health and safety into designs and project delivery
- Organize and undertake technical calculations to industry standards in conjunction with team members; supervise the work of team members to ensure the delegated work is completed to deadlines / standard and report to the project leader any issues, risks or client changes
- Prepare elemental work for project budget costing as delegated by senior members of the team, all to within agreed deadlines and standards
- Visit sites as required to review construction in line with design intent, report and advise about non-compliance issues and risks
- Deal with the day to day queries from site, ensuring that relevant information is available on time for construction activity
- Contribute to and question technical and construction issues and encourage and help the trainees to better understand the design process
- Determine appropriate software for Computer Aided Design, construct models and undertake analysis and manual checks
