Integration Developer (Java)

As a provider of internal IT services for METRO GROUP, METRO SYSTEMS Romania provides specialized consulting to retail companies in all aspects of IT, develops specific solutions along the full value chain and provides a powerful IT infrastructure with a team of over 900 IT professionals.

Required skills:



Minimum 3 year hands-on experience with Java web applications, Spring, Hibernate and Webservices
Additionally further web technology skills in the field of HTML, CSS and JavaScript (ReactJS) are beneficial
Nice to have: experience with application containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and microservices architecture
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or a related discipline
Excellent ability to communicate in English language verbally and in writing
Skill to understand and focus on our internal clients' needs and goals, and to establish credibility and build relationships with clients
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues, clients and other stakeholders

You will take over the responsibilities for design, implementation, quality assurance and deployment of a cloud solution based on JEE. In this position you are part of a competence team that is intended to provide in-house knowledge and expertise and you also have the opportunity to work on emerging technologies in a multicultural environment.

What you will do:


Consolidation, analysis and documentation of user requirements
Functional and technical specification of user demands
Development of Java based applications (JEE)
Maintenance and enhancement of existing systems that are already implemented and used within the METRO group
Testing to assure high level of software quality
