Job role

We run an Actuarial data warehouse solution (ARGO), composed by an Oracle database, a BI tool, and Java Web application as front-end. You will be part of the maintenance team and you have the responsibility to  operate a Java Web application which lies on top of  Linux servers with JBoss components, test new software versions,  work together with a development team to implement a deployment automation process using Jenkins, governance over GitHub versioning tool . You will have a critical position by being the SPOC between the Actuarial team, Development team and Infrastructure team.  

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with a development team to implement a deployment automation process using Jenkins
• Develop new features and fix identified defects of the Java Web application.
• Manage the virtualized Live & Test & Dev environments
• Plan, prepare and manage patching of the servers together with the infrastructure team (upgrades, maintenance, optimization)
• Plan, prepare and manage the releases in collaboration with the development team
• Serve as a liaison between the Development team, Reporting team and Infrastructure teams as it relates to the web based applications.

Requirements

• At least 2 year working experience with Linux and JBoss application server
• Working experience with versioning tools like GitHub
• Working experience with Jenkins to automate deployment processes
• Prior experience using:
  • Java  SE 11– JSP, Servlet and REST web services.
  • JavaScript
  • Frameworks: Hibernate and Struts
• Nice to have: Knowledge of Relational Database Management System (Oracle database on Exadata, PL/SQL programming language)

• High communication skills and customer orientation in a complex environment
• Problem solving skills based on personal work experience and ability to analyze factual information
• Ability to perform tasks independently in non-standardized (constantly changing) work situations
