University degree in business administration or any other related discipline
Relevant experience in an executive leadership position
Business development and/ or strategic partnership experience with a focus in B2C products, especially consumer facing financial and technology services
Experience driving multiple partnership deals through all phases - opportunity identification, business case, negotiation, legal review, and close.
Proven record of successful deals closed
Proficiency in English
Natural leader with an ability to inspire performance with sales teams.
Strong commercial outlook and an entrepreneurial approach to business development
Excellent communication skills to build relationships and negotiate with various stakeholder groups.
Ability to work independently with little instruction and able to cope with a fast-paced dynamic environment
Cryptocurrency / blockchain knowledge is not a must but interest in this space highly valued.
Reporting to the CEO, the Business Development Director is responsible for driving the sales and marketing departments and increasing the company's revenue by identifying and developing new business opportunities and areas where the business can increase its footprint. The person will identify potential partnerships and synergies to enhance the business and open new markets.
Responsibilities
Identify new business opportunities including new markets, growth areas, trends, customers, business partners, products and services
Assess risks and identify potential opportunities for the business
Think strategically, see the bigger picture and set objectives in order to develop and improve the business
Develop commercial strategies to enhance the company’s competitiveness and innovation
Forecast future sales and develop sales plans to adapt to the shifts in the marketplace
Foresee and avoid stagnation in the marketplace
Maximise the company’s profit
Make presentations to company executives and management teams to highlight business or marketing opportunities or to present the results of new strategies
Serve as a business representative at major industry events
