European VAT Controller

Responsibilities:

• Monitoring the quality of the indirect tax data and reports, prepare/review, file and request the payment of indirect tax returns to guarantee timely submission of all VAT and Intrastate returns for the European entities of the group

• Identify risk areas and proactively manageand transform the VAT compliance process to ensure the expected level of data and process quality end to end

• To Identify and mitigate identified issues to be on line with current legislation or  adapt to changes on legislation or process. (includes ensuring correct data management, VAT rates are correctly applied by country and product and are updated as and when required)

• Support VAT Manager,prepare and lead the delivery of training in relation to Tax compliance, technology and process, within Tax compliance team and other services such as P2P which have a direct impact on Tax compliance

• Actively review and challenge the existing process to improve, standardize, and automate of current or new VAT compliance processes/activities 

• You would be working on large scale transformation programs, implementing tax technology solutions. (Optimizing the ERP system, Digital Tax Administration,Tax reporting, Al, Machine learning, Data & Analytic)

• Participate to VAT inspections and audits, including gathering information, responding to information requests 

• University degree, preferable Tax, Accounting (or other similar fields but with experience in finance);
• Minimum 5years of experience in Finance;
• Good English language level;

• Global VAT Tax compliance Experience (Controls, preparation, filling and Improvement), ideally gained within a similar profile role for an International business  ;
• Excellent knowledge of Excel and experience working with Tax reporting software and other office tools;
• Reporting, accounting,advanced accounting/controlling/ analysis.
