Network Engineer

• Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or a related field
• Independent worker – requires low level of supervision

• 2-4 years Industry-related experience as a Network Engineer or Network Administrator
• IT security processes and controls knowledge as well as IT infrastructure and networking technical knowledge
• Local and wide area networking concepts, principles, and protocols
• Senior level understanding of communication protocols (mainly TCP/IP, UDP) and DNS
• Strong understanding of application layer protocols including HTTP, SSH, SSL
• Experience with alternate management methods using SSH, serial connections, and the command-line interface for F5 - TMSH
• Familiarity with access control models and network security
• Experience with network diagnostic, monitoring and analysis tools (e.g. wireshark)
• Ability to work independently and Strong analytical skills
• Ability to think strategically and make collaborative decisions
• Development/Programming experience with tools such as Unix Shell, Python
• Experience in documentation tools such as Visio and Microsoft Office products

• Design and deploy functional networks (LAN, WLAN, WAN, VWAN)
• Configure and install software, servers, routers and other network devices
• F5 Administration, Support and continued build out (LTM, VPN, DNS)
• Expand and branch out knowledge in additional F5 modules
• Monitor network performance and integrity
• Resolve networking issues by troubleshooting cloud and local infrastructures
• Automate tasks and monitor their effectiveness
• Mentor team members on technical issues
• Create, oversee and test security measures (e.g. access authentication and disaster recovery)
• Communicate quickly, clearly, concisely, appropriately, and intelligently for issue resolution
• Maintain complete technical documentation
• Suggest improvements to network performance, capacity and scalability requirements
• Resolving issues as a member of our ITIL escalation team

As a member of the IT team of engineers, you will assist with designing, testing, implementing, documenting, administering, maintaining, monitoring, optimizing, and ensuring the expandability and stability of the Kalypso infrastructure, with emphasis on networking. Most of the Kalypso infrastructure is cloud based in AWS, Azure and Oracle. Additionally, you’ll support office networking in our technology centers and innovation studios. A key focus area will be supporting the build out and maintenance of our AWS F5 deployment.
