IT Security Specialist

Basic qualification:

Graduate;

4-6 years working experience in information technology including 1-2 yrs security experience;

Good multi-platform knowledge, e.g windows, unix, linux etc. Experience in security considerations of hardware deployment and software development including: vulnerability testing, system risk analysis, regulatory compliance, and data classification.

Preferred Qualification

5-7 years working experience in information technology including 3-5 yrs security experience;
Experience defining and implementing security risk analysis solutions, vulnerability scanning and analysis policies and technologies;

Recognised post graduate certification in IT Security.

Coordinates delivery of security risk assessments and analytics - reviews risk metrics results and provides input to projects and teams to mitigate and remediate risk areas and ensure conformance to information security policy, standards & guidelines appropriate to business, technology & legal requirements.

Risk analyst; Understanding the concept of data security and risk assessement.

Coordinates the resolution and removal of IT security vulnerabilities- analyzes discovery scan data and vulnerability data to identify security risks, providing advice and guidance to Service Operations to support the effective resolution of high severity security vulnerabilities.

Applies corporate information security standards - monitors the integrity, confidentiality, and availability of information in the custody of, or processed by, the company, providing reports to superiors regarding the effectiveness of IT security to ensure security policies, practices and procedures are followed.
