Skills and Knowledge requirements:
- Monitoring Tools Knowledge, metrics and best practices
- Microsoft Azure Administration
- Microsoft Operation Manager
- IBM Bigfix and System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM)
- Scripting PowerShell, Bash, Phyton.
- Application Performance Management Concepts and best practices.
- Able to deal with concurrent issues effectively under a dynamic environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, excellent documentation skills
- Ability to support and guide other teams to solve complex monitoring requirements, propose monitoring best practices.
- Ability to interface directly with executives, Internal technical managers, Clients, vendors and contractors
- Engage in regular training and communication meetings with the department
- Knowledge in ITIL V3 Foundation concepts

Experience:
- 2-3 years of experience in Server and Application Monitoring.
- Experience in developing tools and processes to reduce MTTR
- Experience in troubleshooting UNIX, Databases, Windows servers and Network related incidents
- Experience/exposure to a variety of monitoring tools like IP-Switch, New Relic, Site24x7, Ops Manager, Opsview, Nagios, SCOM, Solarwinds etc.
- Experience in driving resolution of complex issues
- Experience in administering IBM Bigfix and SCCM

What will you contribute?

Reporting to the Manager Cloud Operations, the Senior System Engineer will work on a team that manages our Enterprise Monitoring Services and System Management, the primary role of the position is to build and ensure operational status for our services that runs on our production infrastructure. The continuous change and fast paced environment of our team requires this person to be eager to learn, innovative, ensure best practices are implemented, and results-driven.
This engineer is expected to contribute to and influence the strategic direction of monitoring processes and system management technologies.

Responsibilities Deliverables:
- Build and provide custom solution on monitoring application and systems on daily basis for optimal performance.
- Detect and troubleshoot issues and suggest possible remedies on our monitoring and systems management
- Be proactive and anticipate/respond to issues before monitoring or system management tools break
- Keep our enterprise tools secure and up to date
- Analyze existing incidents and identify additional monitoring that help to be proactive and keep production servers/application running.
- Review and assist management with capacity planning
- Create and maintain documentation related to the environments we manage
- Train our Network Operations center to do day-to-day monitoring
- Ensure the monitoring infrastructure is continuously up, operational, and stays stable
- Work with others on the team to help overcome and solve difficult problems
- Present to management areas of opportunity and improvement to the environment to ensure optimal benefits of environment
- Automate OS and Application deployments using enterprise tools
- Perform day-to-day operations
