HSE Site Leader

You will be a key HSE&F resources with the (indicate site support) directing sustainable health and safety programs through incorporation of impactful operating processes and keeping in front of leading practices in health and safety standards.   What Are We Looking For?   We are looking for an HSE (Health, Safety, Environment) Site Leader, at our Timisoara facility to be responsible for leading all HSE for the site. This position reports to the Sr. HSE Leader SME EMEA directly and in a dotted line to the Site Leader. The HSE Leader assures the integration of HSE requirements in alignment with Honeywell behaviors as well as site needs, and serves as the site HSE technical expert. The successful candidate will have the ability to recognize strategic opportunities and focus HSE resources to meet critical business needs, understand organizational dynamics, and possess exceptional interpersonal skills.   What Will You Be Doing Every Day?  

• Assures the integration of technical HSE&F requirements in alignment with Honeywell Behaviors as well as site needs.
• Actively participates on site leadership team in the areas of the Annual Operating Plan (AOP), Strategic Plan (STRAP), Corp. HSE&S governance, auditing, management systems, best practice exchanges, compliance initiatives and governmental/regulatory reporting.
• Preparation and implementation of the site annual HSE compliance action plan.
• Successfully integrates HSE processes with site operations through the HSE Management System.
• Fulfills a leadership role in coordinating successful implementation of HSE processes to achieve world class results.
• Conducts regular inspections, audits and assessments to evaluate the site’s performance in relation to Company HSE directive(s), protocols, guidelines and government regulations.
• Develops and maintains procedures to ensure compliance to all local, country and company requirements.
• Develops working relationships with local regulatory agencies and serves as the site point of contact for all regulatory agency inspections and inquiries.
• Develops and assist in conducting HSE training to site personnel (including induction for all new employees) and support the maintenance training records.
• Interprets existing and proposed changes regarding occupational health, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Provides coaching and development to site leadership in the areas of HSE.
• Provides HSE technical expertise to site personnel.
• Reports and communicates incidents and accidents per the corporate protocol, and if applicable local legislation reporting.
• Develops and implements site emergency response plans and serves as the emergency coordinator for events.
• Supports site level root cause incident investigations.
• Assists in developing and implementing corrective actions to resolve HSE issues and tracks action items to closure.
• Submits weekly/monthly/quarterly/annual corporate reports per requirements.
• Assists site leadership in establishing objectives and metrics in alignment with company HSE goals and initiatives.
• Manages expenditures in accordance with budgetary process and manages site HSE projects to budget.
• Leads and performs safety stand-downs, as required.
• Supports HOS (Honeywell Operating System) as a technical and functional resource by serving on the HOS Steering Team and actively participating in initiatives.

• Diploma in health, safety, environmental, industrial hygiene or related discipline.

• Comprehensive experience in Health, Safety, Environmental.
• Experience in a manufacturing or related environment preferred.
• Must have management experience.
• Experience with ISO 18001 (ISO 45001) or ISO 14001 preferred.
• Comprehensive and technical knowledge of the following aspects is essential: Life critical elements such as safety engineering, LTT, machine guarding, electricity, confined spaces, fall protection, ergonomics, occupational medicine, occupational hygiene, behavior-based safety, air permitting, storm water discharge permitting, waste characterizations, Hazardous waste regulations, HSE Auditing and a clear understanding and interpretation of HSE laws and regulations.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Extensive knowledge in applicable health, safety and environmental regulations as well as knowledge and experience in developing HSE management systems.
• Excellent working knowledge of MS office and HSE systems.
