Software Development Manager

A strong technology background is required, including experience in solution architecture, technology architecture, database design and software application design. Preferably with experience of Microsoft Dynamics AX andor Dycotrade andor X++ coding.
Management skills, including project management capabilities, are required, including prior experience of Agile techniques. Experience managing and delivering multiple projects at the same time is also required.
The role requires between 8- 10 years of technology development experience with four or five years in software delivery management roles. This experience includes familiarity with software product development life cycles.
A BSc degree in engineering, software engineering, science or a related subject is required. A relevant MSc degree andor project management certification is desirable.
Excellent, high-level people management skills are required. Excellent communication, presentation and facilitation skills are necessary.
Must have strong leadership skills and prior experience leading software development and implementation projects at a medium-sized company; exercising strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills
Experience of effectively managing third party suppliers
Expertise and very keen interest in commodity trading environment andor family-owned businesses would be advantageous, but not essential
Prior international experience and ability to operate effectively in an international environment is required (working in large international companies, where primary interaction is with leaders and users outside of Romania)
Full business proficiency in English is essential. Additional languages preferred

Our client is in the process of implementing a new ERP system (AMAX, rooted in Microsoft Dynamics AX) across the Group. This role will lead the software development, support and delivery associated with the AMAX implementation programme, including management of the ERP team, associated software projects and internal customeruser relationship management.
To lead the software development and implementation projects associated with the AMAX ERP implementation programme, with regular updates, reporting and consultation with the AMAX Steering Committee
To deliver projects and software development solutions using the appropriate project management methodology which should include Agile techniques such as continuous integration and test-driven development
To collaborate with the Business Stakeholders and Users to define the roadmap for software development releases and translate this into user requirements
Lead the collaborative, dynamic planning process prioritising the work that needs to be done against the capacity and capability of the ERP team and key users
To manage a multidisciplinary team of developers, consultants and support analysts (including internal and external resources)
Ensure all products are built to an appropriate level of quality for the stage (alphabetaproduction)
Be able to articulate, lead and deliver a clear vision for the ERP team and how it can support the business strategy and fulfil the AMAX programme goals and realisation of the anticipated benefits from AMAX implementation
To manage the relationship, contract and service delivery withfrom third party suppliers
