Bachelor’s in materials engineering degree or related.
Relevant working experience (min. 3 years) in metallurgy and laboratory testing techniques.
Knowledge & proficiency with operating and/or x-ray diffraction techniques and equipment and/or scanning electron microscopes.
Experience with precision products and attention to detail; understanding of application/machine/product drawings, product Safety Data Sheets, and technical / test specifications and exposure to laboratories of varying scope of responsibility / function.
Ability to communicate (written and verbal) in English to support global activities.
Computer skills using Microsoft products including Outlook, Word and Excel.
Excellent analytical skills.
Strong inter-personal and team skills, results focus; good oral and written communication skills.
Perform tests to evaluate material performance in accordance with standard procedures and test plans which are aligned with the needs of R&D, Quality, Product Teams and Operations.
Evaluate products and samples, while providing thorough and accurate documentation of test results and analysis.
Ensure adequate and up-to-date documentation of test progress, test samples, results and conclusions, etc.
Conduct complex data analysis and investigations.
Develop ideas for continuous improvement of laboratory productivity, reduction of test cycle-time and set-up time; share best practices with other test groups within the Company.
