NDE Engineer - level II, ASNT

Bachelor or Master Degree in Electrical engineering, Physics, Materials & Metallurgical Engineering; Material Sciences or related field.
Level II ASNT Certification in related discipline (ECT, MPI, UT etc.)
Experience in NDE related areas (ECT, MPI, UT etc.) and mechanical testing represent a strong advantage;
Excellent writing and verbal communication skills in English (technical English is an asset);
Six sigma or DFSS training represent a strong advantage.
Proactive, analytical and logical thinker, detailed-oriented.
Located in Romania and reporting to Chief Materials Engineer Europe, the job holder will be responsible for:
Planning, offering support and execution of capital projects targeting improved quality, performance, and cost
Providing input to local process owners, leverages access to metallurgical analysis, and leads manufacturing associate problem-solving during high fall out events.
Serving as regional expert in NDE disciplines for manufacturing training support. Acts as a mentor to internal associates and as a standards provider to external NDE vendors, and communicates with vendors and manufacturing including periodic onsite review. Write standard operating procedures and work instructions for all NDE in the lab.
Representing Timken during external customer audits through explanation of Timken standards, and links Timken standards to both customer and industry requirements.
Contributing to innovations regarding the application of NDE to enhance the Timken Company's technical capabilities and competencies for creation of value and strategic advantage. Publish – weekly – monthly – quarterly technical reports, calibration reports, customer requests forms, and lab samples.
Performing routine assembly/maintenance/ repair/troubleshooting/cleaning of all NDE in the Lab & maintain proper records of spares/ inventory items.
Updating knowledgebase continuously by working with experienced Engineers or Technicians at WHQ / Manufacturing Plants, to combine their experience with latest engineering practices/ Technical advancements.
