The Michelin Group started the activity in Romania in August 2001, investing over the years more than 400 million euros. Currently, Michelin Romania has more than 4,000 employees, three factories, two in Zalău and one in Floreşti, a commercial network and a Center of Excellence and Shared Services (Bucharest) providing support services in the following domains: purchasing, finance, logistics, sales administration or human resources. Additionally, Michelin Romania became the Headquarter of the Central Europe Region, coordinating 20 countries with 14,000 employees working in six production units, commerce, shared services or maps and guides.

Michelin is present in Romania from 2001 with three factories, a shared service center and a commercial network where more than 4000 people are employed. One of their priorities is to increase the percentage of women employees, especially in management structures, to 30% until 2020.
