Avionics Systems Engineer
Lilium is a disruptive aviation start-up based in Munich. Co-founded in 2015 by Daniel Wiegand, Sebastian Born, Patrick Nathen and Matthias Meiner, the team brings together international world-class engineers and designers.
The group shares the vision of a completely new type of individual transportation and is dedicated to develop and build the world’s first fully electric vertical take-off and landing (VTOL) jet. An estimated range of up to 300 km and a top speed of 300 km/h, along with zero emissions make it the most efficient and eco-friendly individual means of transportation of our time. By providing ultra-redundancy, the Lilium Jet will also set new standards in safety.
Lilium aims at liberating towns and cities from today’s congestion and pollution, with people able to come and go freely, vastly expanding the radius of their everyday lives.
- MSc./M.Eng. or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Physics or a related field required
- 3 to 5 years of experience in a similar position is necessary
- Hands-on experience with software development and architecture required
- Experience with hardware and software development process according to DO 178B/C and DO 254 and familiarity with ARP4754 highly appreciated
- Strong motivation to help build structures and processes
- High level of self-reliance with the ability to work in a team, as well as autonomous
- Target-oriented, driven workstyle with analytic problem solving skills required
- Fluent English language skills are essential, fluent German or any other language would be beneficial
We are looking for an outstanding Avionics Systems Engineer to join our innovative team that will shape the future of urban e-mobility.
In this position you will report directly to our Head of Avionics Systems Engineering and will be contribute to the electric and electronic systems architecture of the Lilium Jet. Furthermore, you will take responsibility for the development of subsystems and components and ensure their compliance to safety standards. The actual systems you will take care of, can range from pilot interfaces and display systems over auxiliary systems to telemetry, RC, ground control and accompanying systems.
- Work with the avionics team on the architecture of the avionics system
- Take ownership of your system(s) and manage its whole implementation cycle
- Develop, challenge and continuously improve system’s and item’s technical concepts
- Ensure, that your system fulfils functional and safety requirements
- Define requirements for subsystems and components
- Work together with other departments and external suppliers to find the simplest and most elegant solutions
- Continuously improve your tools and methods
- Work on ad hoc related tasks or projects provided by management
