    History

    Porsche Engineering Romania SRL was founded in Cluj-Napoca in 2016 as a subsidiary of Porsche Engineering Group GmbH, Weissach (Germany). The foundation was closely linked to the collaboration with the Technical University in Cluj-Napoca which has been in place since 1992. This bridge between industry and academic research and instruction has resulted in a fruitful and mutually beneficial exchange.

    Requirements


    Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or an equivalent education
    At least 2 years of professional experience in one object oriented programming like Python, C++, C#, Java or .NET. Whilst this position will require you to work in Java and/or Python, previous experience is not required. If you are a strong developer in any of the above-mentioned languages, and are willing to switch languages, then we would love to hear from you
    At least one year of work experience with agile methodologies as Scrum, Kanban and XP
    Good knowledge of data structures, algorithms, complexity and optimization strategies, as well as design patterns
    Minimum1or 2 years of professional experience using at least one of the following: Hadoop, Spark, Cassandra, Kafka, ElasticSearch stack
    At least one year of professional experience working with Rest APIs and integrating systems
    Being open to learn and apply technologies most appropriate for each task, as needed
    English language is mandatory and German language is considered a plus
    Strong communication and teamwork skills as well as a high affinity for delivering first-quality engineering services to the customer
    Willingness to travel

    Responsibilities


    Writing code to gather data, analyze and explore it under different dimensions, processing and reshaping it using parallel or classical algorithmic approaches, depending on requirements
    Working directly with stakeholders to understand problems in our domain
    Designing and delivering technical solutions to business and product problems
    Taking ownership of initiatives and driving them through to completion
    Applying various algorithms and data analysis techniques in order to find the best solution
    Using Atlassian stack: Jira, Confluence, BitBucket git and Bamboo; for task management, documenting solutions, building and versioning the code
    Collaborating with international project teams

    Porsche Engineering Romania is currently looking for a Software Engineer to join the team in Cluj-Napoca, Romania. In this role, you will be responsible for developing critical applications utilizing Java or Python. You will work on projects that span technologies, systems, and processes where you will design, test, and ship high quality code very often. In this cross-functional role, you will collaborate with team members and clients, to build critical internal and external features, which enable understanding, searching and visualizing patterns in the data. As a team member, who enjoys working with people and understands other points of view, you will be a full-stack Software Engineer, contributing at each layer of the application. You are not afraid to ask for help when you need it, or to help teammates when they need a boost in circumstances like code review, feedback or creatively adapt multiple ideas into a solution.
