    Who you are:

We are excited to announce the second edition of our Automotive Bootcamp, this time with a focus on Software Integration & Testing. You will be specializing in bringing together component subsystems into a whole, and ensuring that those subsystems work together.

This is going to be a part-time 6 months’ assignment (6 hours/day) in which you will be learning the ropes of Integration across multiple domains and accounts. After the completion of this program, you will be given the chance to remain in Harman on a full-time position!

    What are your responsibilities:

During the Automotive Bootcamp, you will learn how to use a Version Control System (ex: Git or Perforce).

You will get accustomed to Linux at a daily user level, as well as learn a scripting language to write scripts for automating different tasks.

Raising, processing and closing tickets on different bug tracking systems will be part of the daily activities, whilst also being introduced to Yocto, a collaborative open source project with a goal to produce tools and processes that enable the creation of Linux distributions for embedded hardware.

During your time here, you will get an opportunity to familiarize yourself with Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery approaches, as well as being introduced to Software and System Testing terminology and techniques.

Last but not least, you will be introduced to the system development lifecycle paradigms and methodologies, whilst working hand-in-hand with our engineers to learn the secrets of the trade.

    What skills you have:

This opportunity is open to all final year students within an Engineering University, or those with already completed superior studies that are currently part of a Master’s program of the same focus.

You need to have a genuine interest in Software Integration and Integration Testing.

A solid level of English is mandatory, as well as a high sense of responsibility, attention to details and a “can do” attitude.

You will find it easier to boost your skills if you already have user level knowledge of Linux. Being accustomed to any scripting programming language is a plus, as well as any experience with embedded systems hardware.

To succeed, you must be a good communicator, be able to adapt quickly and to work in a fast paced environment. Some travel may be required after the completion of the Automotive Bootcamp (less than 20% of working time).
