Scala Junior Software Engineer – Identity and Access Management

We are setting up a new software development team to help us build innovative solutions to support our wholesale and retail business in over 25 countries.

You will be part of a team of technical experts focused on developing the new Metro solutions for Identity and Access Management. As a software engineer, you will develop mainly back-end applications that leverage the newest technology stacks to build modern distributed systems used worldwide.

We are looking for a Junior Scala Developer. You may not have any professional Scala experience, although may have completed a Coursera course or contribute to Scala projects via github etc.

We are happy to spend a lot of time with you to learn and apply Scala in a particularly interesting environment. We think you’ll get good opportunities to be mentored well here.

Our systems are delivered by cross-functional teams that are encouraged to be autonomous and self-organizing. We use agile techniques and methods centered around Scrum and Kanban.

Our main technology stack includes the following. Don’t worry if you’re not familiar with all of these - we will give you time and support in getting up to speed, and access to experts when you get stuck.

Your profile:

•You are innovative and passionate about programming and technology
•You have gained some coding experience in several programming languages, by participating in internship/traineeship programs, and experimenting on your own or contributing to open source projects
•You are able to show us your code and discuss about it
•Have good knowledge of data structures and algorithms
•Have the ability to communicate with colleagues and other technical teams
•Have a good sense of humor
