Linux System Engineer

As a provider of internal IT services for METRO GROUP, METRO SYSTEMS Romania provides specialized consulting to retail companies in all aspects of IT, develops specific solutions along the full value chain and provides a powerful IT infrastructure with a team of over 900 IT professionals.

We are looking for a System Engineer to manage automated deployment on an infrastructure consisting in more than 350 virtual OS Linux based servers interconnected with more than 2000 Agents installed on different Operating System distributions.

You will work in close collaboration with DevOps teams located within Metros Systems Romania and have the opportunity to sustain them in automating their business processes.

We’re looking for someone who will:

•Develop the needed scripts (e.g. shell, Ansible) in order to deploy and configure scheduling tools on Linux servers
•Control tasks for automation, backup and recovery
•Interact with other teams (Job Operation, OS Admins, LAN/WAN, etc.)
•Actively participate on the architecture design projects for platform improvement

You’re a great fit if you have:

•UNIX OS Administration (RedHat, AIX) knowledge
•Good Shell Scripting (KSH and Bash) skills
•DevOps Tools (GitHub, ELK, Ansible, Prometheus/Grafana) concepts
•Cloud Architecture knowledge
•Ability to communicate and collaborate efficiently
•High interest in continuous learning and development (new tools, technologies, methodologies)
•University Politehnica of Bucharest studies would be a plus
