Senior DevOps Engineer

Hunt Group – a mix of recruitment (executive search and head hunting) and outsourcing activities in industries such as IT, oil&gas, banking, finance and automotive.

- Bachelor of Science or higher degree in computer science or related discipline
- 5+ years solid hands-on experience building and managing large-scale cloud-based Infrastructure as a DevOps engineer, and managing complex cloud applications running at scale
- Solid knowledge of the CI/CD concepts and underlying principles, and understanding of the accompanying culture
- Experience in one or more of the following languages: PowerShell, Python and Linux shell script
- Hands-on experience with AWS, Terraform, Jenkins, Ansible, HashiCorp Vault and Chef
- Self-motivated, autonomous, empathetic and great communication skills
- Ability to manage long term, project/milestone based work with multiple teams
- Ability to jump into situations with few guardrails and make things better

- Automate the installation and upkeep of build and deploy tools and dependencies
- Conduct research and make recommendations on products, services, and standards to use for infrastructure/engineering efforts
- Document and present your ideas and solutions accurately and thoroughly
- Collaborate with product development teams to provide guidance on architecting and developing cloud solutions that are optimized for security, scalability, availability and performance
- Drive continuous improvements in deployment, management, and monitoring of the application’s web services
- Maintain change control and testing processes for all infrastructure modifications and deployments
- Contribute to improvements in processes that increase the effectiveness and efficiency of the DevOps and product development teams in responding to customer and business needs
- Adopt and evangelize best uses for NewRelic, CloudWatch, Grafana and other monitoring and alerting systems
- Solve live performance and stability issues and prevent their recurrence
- Coordinate change deployment and release testing effort with the product development team, and perform major upgrades with zero downtime
- Help define and build true CI/CD culture, tooling and process
- Cross-train and mentor teammates
- Work closely with product development teams to support production services in an on-call rotation, and be an escalation contact for service incidents
