Principal Engineer

Hunt Group – a mix of recruitment (executive search and head hunting) and outsourcing activities in industries such as IT, oil&gas, banking, finance and automotive.

- Bachelor of Science or higher degree in computer science or equivalent
- 5+ years of experience in C#
- Extensive solid hands-on cloud software development experience with multiple environments, languages and tools
- Experience working on development, enhancement and management of cloud service running at scale in a 24x7 mission critical fashion
- Experience working on agile software projects with short release cycles
- Solid understanding of typical web application architecture (data, application, web tiers etc.)
- Extensive experience with REST API development in a Service Oriented Architecture (microservices architecture)
- Strong understanding of Amazon Web Services or other cloud infrastructure technologies
- Understanding of cloud design patterns and best practices, for example circuit breaker, caching, deferred load, queuing etc
- Experience with security best practices for a modern cloud service (nice to have)
- Experience with basic network infrastructure and components (load balancing, NAT, scaling, etc.) (nice to have)
- Experience with CI/CD concepts and working with a deployment pipeline
- Self-motivated, autonomous, empathetic and great communication skills
- Proven ability to work with remote teams, and to mentor teammates
- Ability to jump into situations with few guardrails and make things better

- Involved with all aspects of software development, working to create and maintain a secure, scalable, available and performant service for our customers by using cloud technologies and leveraging your experience in that space
- Partner closely with product managers, product owners, software architects and other stakeholders to iteratively turn high level requirements into product enhancements that are delivered to customers incrementally and continually
- Participate in software design and architecture by leveraging cloud design patterns and injecting your cloud expertise into the entire development lifecycle
- Contribute to improvements in processes and deliverables that increase the effectiveness and efficiency of the team in responding to customer and business needs
- Conduct research and make recommendations on tools, services, and standards to use for engineering efforts
- Document and present your ideas and solutions accurately and thoroughly
- Coordinate change deployment and release testing effort with the DevOps team
- Cross-train and mentor teammates
- Work closely with DevOps and product development teams to support production services in an on-call rotation, and be an escalation contact for service incidents
- Be a member of an agile product team of smart and highly motivated engineers building world-class cloud software applications and services
- Work in a global team and collaborate with local and remote colleagues from various disciplines like business, engineering, operations, support etc
