    Position Summary:

    The Senior Network Engineer will be part of a team responsible for maintaining Campus and Wide Area Network services in a 24x7, mission-critical, enterprise environment and delivering information technology solutions, services, and infrastructure to EA’s game studios worldwide. This is a level 3 role in the Network Operations team that is focused on proactive performance and capacity management, problem management, and includes work on tickets that are escalated via level 2 support.

    Job Overview:

    • Participate in the supporting, planning, configuration and deployment of company’s network environment, including switches, routers, load balancers, wireless, firewalls, WAN accelerators and other hardware.
    • Make recommendations and provide daily operational maintenance of existing network infrastructure (mainly Cisco and Palo Alto)
    • Planning and execution of changes, assessing and mitigating risks and following IT change control best practices for predictable results
    • Conduct research on network products, services, protocols, and standards in support of network procurement and development efforts, that make network maintenance, capacity and performance management more effective while improving security and performance
    • Provide highest level operational support, triage, break/fix, incident resolution, including response to escalations, proactively notifying customers of network issues, and assessing and communicating business impact
    • Participate and collaborate in various information technology projects
    • Use of network tools for administration, maintenance, automation, and visualization/reporting
    • Prepare and maintain up to date documentation for internal and external customers detailing configuration of deployed solutions
    • Demonstrate good judgment in solving problems as well as identifying problems in advance, and proposing solutions and technology guidance to solve business problems and improve existing network
    • Be a true engineer: Must possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills
    • Be passionate about network technology and demonstrate awareness of industry trends/direction
    • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent
    • Minimum Professional level certification - Cisco CCNP or equivalent certification
    • Minimum of 5 years’ experience provisioning and troubleshooting of LAN/WAN connectivity technologies, hands-on experience with routers, switches, firewalls
    • Proven experience network and infrastructure principles and general network management best practices.
    • Proven experience with network services and dynamic routing (BGP, OSPF, TCP/IP, VRF, QoS, HSRP, IPSLA, IPSec, SNMP, RADIUS, TACACS…)
    • Familiar with Networking Monitoring and Management Tools
    • Ability and desire to learn independently as well as in a team
    • Ability to manage time well and meet multiple deadlines
    • Excellent writing and communication skills
    • Strong technical and problem resolution skills
    • Ability to work under pressure
    • Ability to travel to other locations as required
    Nice to have:

    Network programmability background
    • Unix scripting, preference toward Python
    • Knowledge of intent-based networking solutions
    • Experience of Software Defined Networking and network controllers
    • Understanding of APIs and the use of YANG, NETCONF, RESTCONF
    Cloud technologies background
    • Possess a working knowledge of cloud deployment models. Public, Private, Community, Hybrid
    • Good understanding of different vendor cloud platforms. AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform
    Data center technologies background
    • Good knowledge of 2 Tier, 3 Tier and spine-leaf architecture
    • Good knowledge network virtualization
    • Good understanding of the components and operations of Cisco virtual switches
    • Good understanding of data, control, and management planes
