The Delivery Center is part of a global network of 80 similar centers and uses the best IBM methods of work, global processes and techniques. The center has achieved CMMI Level 5 (Capability Maturity Model Integration) and its mission is to provide customers with software solution customized to their global business needs.

    Requirements

    The Technical Support Specialist will be responsible for the maintenance and support of application systems currently running on various platforms, such as Mainframe, Client Server and WEB.

    In addition, the following will be essential:
    • Willingness to learn Cobol.
    • IT background (e.g.: Computer Science, Automation, Cybernetics )
    • Basic database understanding (how it works, query interpretation, query writing)
    • Problem solver, customer oriented
    • Strong communication skills
    • Teamwork skills
    • Negotiation skills, diplomatic
    • English: fluent
    • German: intermediary / fluent

    Responsibilities

    Main responsibilities will be:
    • Analyzing customer developed programs, batch files, job control scripts, file deliveries and database content by using mainframe and 3rd party tools
    • Provide support in all deployment and administration related activities;
    • Participate in the production and maintenance of the infrastructure requirements for the new IT projects and the major releases of the existing IT systems and applications;
    • Provide basics tasks of 3rd level support including debugging, test cases;
    • Responsible for incident, problem, change, release, configuration management, technical support;
    • Perform application deployment related testing (installation, removal, and reinstallation) and adjust the installation scripts, procedures and guidelines;
    • Create/update product documentation;

    Depending on the demonstrated level of performance, after 3 months of internship all the suitable candidates will be offered the option of a full time position in IBM.
