Description

The Business Analyst role is responsible for maintaining the European market model, providing market intelligence, insights and ad-hoc reports to the European Leadership team.

Responsibilities

Stewardship of reports and business system report management (Oracle - JDI, OBIEE and BU reporting systems) to Europe reporting teams, largely based in Cluj (marketing, services and finance)
Provide key business metrics, reports and data analysis to enable tactical decisions on account prioritization, product performance and business development opportunities, largely through - marketing POR, strategic accounts, STL, Industry and BU reports
Maintain the Marketing POR intranet site and contents, and keep ever green the European market model, with quarterly CapEx & OpEx data from IHS Global Insight & IIR
Prepare models to support the annual strategy review process by integrating competitor product and market growth rates, agreeing year on year performance by BU, Country sales, Market and Industry size, and Emerson Automation Solutions & Competitors participation by product, industry and market
Mine data from ERS by creating queries and SQL scripts: Sales, Bookings and Backlogs, Product Group Analysis, Product Line Sales and Kinds of Business Reporting, Customer Sales Analysis
Run reports in CIC, GDW and PATT
Generate, design and formulate key enterprise metrics, reports and analysis for multiple cross-functional European sites, to ensure accurate reporting and drive standardization where possible.
Reports Automation/programming in excel to increase efficiency in reports analysis and metrics creation.
Improves effectiveness of all European report templates.
Enhancement of report manager through analysis, design, programming and administration of ERS database (SQL Query) for use as a back-end for application system.
Act as point person/consultant for European Reporting System (ERS).
Liaise closely with Finance and BU Business Analysts in extracting and consolidating sales and bookings information in preparation of monthly report to key business stakeholders.
Generation of lean measures-related reports (periodic, quarterly, on demand) including but not limited to Product Group Report and Sales Office Reports.

Advanced MS Excel working knowledge required, ability to work with pivot tables, sorting, filtering, grouping, functions (i.e. lookup, concatenate), experience with presentational spreadsheets
Working knowledge in relational databases and tools such as MS Access, SQL query builder (required), ERS and JDE preferred
Working Knowledge in relational database, SQL scripting, stored procedures, views and functions
Knowledge in various software applications such as: SharePoint, MS Access
Experience in the industrial sector (marketing, manufacturing, operations) preferred
High competence in usage of MS Outlook and MS Office applications
