Pioneering statistical machine translation

Language Weaver was founded in January 2002 to commercialize a breakthrough approach to automatic language translation and natural language processing based on research advances made at the University of Southern California’s Information Sciences Institute. Language Weaver’s resulting product, statistical machine translation software (SMTS), uses a statistical rather than traditional rule-based approach to correlate words and word groupings from language to language and produce the highest probability output. In July of 2010 Language Weaver was acquired by SDL and became SDL Language Weaver.

Cluj Office

The Cluj-Napoca operational office of Language Weaver US was founded in 2008. At the beginning the office only had a handful of people, but we are now proud to be a team of more than 60 professionals.

SDL Language Weaver offers in Cluj a challenging and comfortable environment for all those who are passionate about IT technologies and foreign languages. Here our developers, testers and language professionals design unique SaaS applications that enable the world to communicate by removing the language barrier.
