QA Automation Engineer - Linux

We Appreciate:

- BS degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent
- minimum 3 years in software quality assurance or system/network administration
- strong scripting skills, in at least two of the following languages: Bash, Python, Perl
- good knowledge of GNU/Linux operating system, from a system administrator"s point of view and a deep understanding of the available tool-chain
- experience with relational databases (MySQL)
- ability to read a system specification and understand the purpose and structure of the system
- ability to derive from a system specification the areas that need to be tested
- ability to assess the quality of software by measuring relevant factors such as correctness, reliability, stability, scalability, performance
- ability to use software versioning systems
- excellent communication, interpersonal and teamwork skills
- some knowledge of hardware components and ability to make comparative analysis
- fluent in English (both written and spoken)

Your Tasks:

- maintain and enhance testing environments
- design and implement functional / non-functional tests based on developer and client needs, taking into account deadlines and goals
- automate the tests and integrate them into regression frameworks; manually test the features that cannot be checked automatically
- deploy testable versions of software on test systems and regularly run functional test cycles
- create, run and automate performance benchmarks when needed
- work closely with the development team to investigate and solve major software incidents;
- review the technical documentation for accuracy

Would be a plus:

- experience with open-source configuration management software such as Bcfg2, Cfengine, Puppet, etc
- passion for quality and building cutting edge test automation infrastructures
- ability to perceive areas with a high risk of development mistakes
- knowledge of C, C++ or Java programming languages and debugging tools
- ISTQB certification or equivalent
- knowledge of test automation frameworks and tools
