• Understand and ensure that the development strategy, objectives and processes are executed correctly ;
• Lead the Core Services team, supporting all RALW software development projects ;
• Maintain and support the development, test and UAT environments ;
• Create and integrate systems, utilities and scripts to automate deployment and monitoring of builds and environments ;
• Defines build, continuous integration and deployment standards and ensures adherence to them; drive the continuous improvement of these standards and processes ;
• Create and integrate systems to compute and display the build and deploy KPIs ;
• Provide support for technical infrastructure components (middleware, databases, operating systems) and applications in development, test and pre-production environments ;
• Contribute to problem and root cause analysis ;
• Work with off-shore vendor resources and groups ;
• Work together with IAAS and PAAS service provides within the bank to maintain and operate our platforms and environments ;
• Work with the other technical areas, conducting technology research, and evaluate software required for maintaining the development environment ;
• Support the project teams in our group and ensure they plan and execute their deployment and go-live correctly. Ensure the teams have the appropriate levels of specifications, directions and resources to be successful ;
• Help the projects to create realistic estimates and timelines for their deployment and go-live activities ;
• Act as interface towards our stake-holders and towards other teams and groups; manage expectations; promote our group’s activity within the company ;
• Ensure the projects are using the internal tools and processes appropriately, so that execution is managed and progress is reported effectively ;
• Manage and appropriately escalate issues coming out of the projects ;
• Coach, mentor and motivate the team ;
• Build an organizational culture based on performance, objectively measuring results through consistent use of KPIs ;
• Build a culture of continuous learning, where teams look back at their past results, learn from them and adjust their ways of working ;
• Own and resolve impediments that cannot be resolved by the team.

MANDATORY SKILLS:

• Confirmed experience as a DevOps or development manager, owning large IT infrastructures ;
• Multi-cultural experience, including managing remote teams in different geographical locations ;
• Time management skills - able to work on multiple project streams simultaneously ;
• Used to working to tight deadlines and identifying problems at an early stage ;
• Flexibility and willingness to work autonomously and self-motivated within set competencies in a team and fast paced environments ;
• Proven negotiation, problem solving and conflict management skills ;
• Have a strong delivery focus adhering to consistent project standards ;
• Understanding of IT Governance related processes and practices ;
• Experience with continuous integration, continuous delivery and deployment automation ;
• Flexible - able to work in a fast changing environment and to react positively to re-prioritization ;
• Ability to motivate others ;
• Ability to effectively manage conflicting priorities ;
• Knowledge of agile processes (Scrum) and of waterfall delivery practices ;
• Good knowledge of the technologies used – J2EE, WebLogic, Unix (Solaris and Linux), Oracle databases, JIRA, Maven, Nexus, Git, etc ;
• Experience with deployment, configuration and support of J2EE applications ;
• Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
