PLC & SCADA (Technology) Engineer

• University degree in engineering technology, IT engineering, or equivalent (master’s level is a plus);
• 2-5 years engineering experience, preferably in express, warehouse, logistics or transport industries (knowledge of TNT operations and/or IT networks is a plus);
• Demonstrated experience in increasing the performance and reliability of operations equipment and its infrastructure;
• Programming knowledge of programmable logic controllers (PLCs);
• A strong background in developing and implementing new technologies;
• Proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Visio;
• Knowledge of technical drawing software, preferably AutoCAD;
• Experience with project management; certification (PMI, Prince2) is a plus;
• Fluent in English (other languages are a plus);
• A flexible approach to work and frequent travel.

• To maximize the efficiency and reliability of material handling systems and operations equipment by monitoring performance and VOC, resolving problems and downtime, arranging upgrades and working with TNT network architects to optimize equipment-network interfaces, communications and functionalities;
• To program, configure and test high-level and low-level control systems including DS/PLC/SCADA for material handling systems (e.g., large-scale automated parcel sorting systems);
• To evaluate, specify, configure and maintain management information systems, business process intelligence and other advanced operational systems and process performance software;
• To investigate and identify opportunities for improved process technologies from innovative thinking, new products and services and multiple sources, such as academia and publications;
• To analyze the operations and process technologies of competitors and to act upon improvements for TNT that have been identified;
• To promote technology standards and Best Practices while supporting migration changes to future infrastructure;
• To contribute to disaster recovery and contingency planning related to all areas of process technology;
• To create new engineering documentation and to update existing, as needed;
• To promote and maintain the highest professional standards for technology engineering within TNT.
