Essential:

- Demonstrable experience of mainframe Adabas Database System Administration and support of applications written using Natural 4GL programming language.

- Experience in the installation and management of system software, Adabas, Natural and related products

- Perform system installations and upgrades per client requirements

- Analyze customer environments and maintain performance goals

- Monitor system health

- Monitor the Backup, Reorg and utility jobs

- Participate in Disaster Recovery Exercise.

- Provide database support to Application Development and production control teams.

- Continuously monitor database performance and take steps pro actively to ensure good database performance.

- Experience in all of the following database software:
Adabas, Natural, and Adabas 3rd party products (including ADASTRIP, Stripcsv and ADAREORG)
JCL, ISPF, and 3rd party DBA tool experience.

- Verbal and written proficiency in English.

Desirable:

It is also advantageous to have experience supporting applications using DB2, IMS and MQ system software.

This role has been established to Install, Upgrade and Manage Mainframe Adabas and Natural System Software adhering to company regulations and security standards. Assist with testing of new/improved systems, as well as product upgrades.

You will form part of a leveraged team of 5 DBAs also supporting DB2, IMS and MQ Software. Attend meetings and interact regularly with management, team, vendors and clients to continuously improve services. Participate in Service Point roster during office hours and On-Call roster at other times.
