    Requirements

    This is what we are looking for in the right candidate:
    - University degree in Accounting and/or Finance
    - Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar role (regardless of industry, BPO would be an advantage though)
    - Prior experience with SAP would be an important advantage
    - Excellent knowledge of the Romanian accounting and tax legislation
    - Advanced analytical, organizational and communication skills
    - Attention to detail, someone who would not need to apply a rounding to the Balance Sheet check
    - Team player
    - Fluency in English
    - Advanced skills in Excel

    Responsibilities

    The Finance & Accounting team of TELUS International Europe is a fully-fledged finance division of the leading BPO provider in Bulgaria and Romania – TELUS International. The division consists of 10+ professionals (located in Sofia and Bucharest) with more than 100 years of combined finance and accounting expertise. Our ERP is SAP, our financials are audited by a Big 4 auditor, we partner with 3 very large international banks and operate in a Company with a footprint on 3 continents.

    Today, we are hiring for the role of Operational Accountant, the role is a classic operational accounting role with the following job characteristics:

    - Capable and responsible to handle all accounting operations, from primary documents until closing of the balance sheet and trial balance;
    - Diligently record (in SAP) the daily bookings for business transactions as per IFRS;
    - Processing the payroll including all relevant/associated statements;
    - Prepare orders for payments to suppliers and the state budget, ensure maker-checker process is adhered to;
    - Month end reconciliations (stocks, debtors, creditors, banks, fixed assets, VAT, P&L, etc.);
    - Ensuring that all fiscal operations are managed and reported properly and in a timely manner to the Tax authorities;
    - Contributor to the preparation of the interim and the annual individual and consolidated financial statements under IFRS;
    - Prepares financial reports annual and monthly required by accounting and tax legislation or company’s management;
    - Apply critical thinking to ensure accurate recording and analysis of revenues and expenses;
    - Prepare detailed ever-consistent reports on supplier- and customer- account balances;
    - Keep track of any changes in the legislation that may have impact on the accounting activity of the Company;
    - The role reports directly to the TELUS International Romania Finance Manager;
