L2 Senior Functional Support Professional - IBM Cognos Controller

IBM has integrated Clarity Systems within its Business Analytics software portfolio and on 1st May 2011 we marked the start of the new IBM Bucharest Software Lab. IBM Cognos' products range from business intelligence to financial performance and strategy management to analytics applications. Several of the world's largest companies rely on them from running their financial operations to producing financial statements on time with accuracy, and ensuring complete auditability. The Cognos team is now looking to expand the Bucharest Software Lab with smart and motivated young graduates.

Key Skills and Qualifications:
• At least 3-5 years of experience in a client-facing multinational environment, on a functional support role or equivalent position;
• Accounting knowledge and experience, either in studies or from working
• Experience of statutory/management reporting
• Good financial systems knowledge i.e. SAP, Oracle or IBM
• Experience of administration, maintenance and development of accounting systems
• Experience of implementing a financial application, particularly as an end user
• Experience of solving problems and implementing solutions
• An excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
• Ability to communicate financial concepts to non-financial people.
• Technically competent and well versed in key financial terms and processes
• Interest in Software and IT is elementary to this role.
• English language – proficient level.


Additional Desirable Position Qualifications
• Knowledge of Cognos products, like Controller, TM1 and/or Cognos BI
• Advanced knowledge of SSL certificates (creation, installation, updates)
• Software skills in installation and deployment
• Language skills of other European languages

You will support our customers and business partners in this office based role and connect with them by telephone, email and social media e.g. connection sites, forums and other state of the art communication methods.
In this role, you will be exposed to a variety of technologies and take responsibility for the creation of a positive customer experience.
Customer Support is at the center of our after sales value proposition to our clients and you will lead conversations and coordinate activities with experts and leaders across departments and divisions in IBM.

Position Responsibilities:
• You will help customers to resolve complex accounting aspects in their bespoke IBM products.
• The focus will be predominantly in the area of business consolidation i.e. for US GAAP and IFRS.
• This work includes troubleshooting, collecting detailed problem description, history of the issue and changes made and then replication of the issue.
• You will regularly inform customers on the progress of your investigation and ensure that all related records are properly updated in our CRM system.
• Cross collaboration with developers and peers will become part of your daily routine.
• Sharing best practices for the utilization and deployment of IBM products is elementary to your customer communication and you will help customers maximize the product’s business value.
