Description
This role is for a Competitive Intelligence Analyst position supporting the HP Inc. Corporate Strategy team. The successful candidate will generate competitive intelligence reports using multiple sources including primary research, secondary and syndicated data, as well as publicly available information such as company websites, industry blogs, etc. The role will also involve critical analysis of all available information to make sense of the market shifts and HP’s competitive position. When possible, predict further movements, and respond to business challenges within the Personal Computer business. It will require working with various HP functions and fully engaging within the worldwide team to ensure consistency of output and the sharing of best practices

Qualifications
Knowledge and Skills Required:
7+ years of experience with business reporting, competitive intelligence primary research, strategy, and marketing
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Engineering or related field of study. Master's degree strongly preferred (MBA)
In-depth knowledge of the Technology markets in which HP competes
Thorough knowledge of research methodologies/ practices
Very strong analytic skills
Ability to extrapolate future trends from current information
Ability to manage complex situations that involve multiple market segments/product offerings
Excellent written and oral communications skills
Excellent interpersonal skills; ability to build, manage and influence virtual teams
Ability to interface effectively with all levels of management and functional disciplines
Excellent influencing, consensus-building and conflict-resolution skills
Demonstrated ability to provide strong time management skill

Qualified candidates will possess:
• Proven ability to mine and extract useful information/insight from data
• Strong communication skills with good verbal and written English.
• Must be able to craft and present a compelling presentation that links strategic insights that are developed from the data.
• Must have a very solid understanding of financial reports and be able to extract insights relevant for HP’s business. This includes competitor presentations, 10-Q, 10-K, as well as Wall Street Analyst presentations
• Be detailed and quality orientated
• Have excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize effectively
• Be a strong team player with a proven ability to operate cross-function, site and culture
• Competitive Intelligence and reporting experience
• Business analysis training
• Familiarity with Personal Computer business
• Process development skills: organization, project management, progress tracking, issue resolution
• Strong knowledge of HP’s business
• Additional skills and experience desired:
• Familiar with CapitalIQ or FactSet and how to program MS Excel Macros
• Experience with maintaining and updating Microsoft SharePoint sites
• Data visualization expertise: proficiency in simplifying complex subjects in written and graphic form
Key roles
• Own Personal Computing competitive intelligence reporting including
• Maintaining a spreadsheet that has all competitor financials in one location
• Generate quarterly earnings analysis on key, named HP competitors
• Constantly monitor all intelligence on key, named HP competitors and generate alerts that highlight the relevance of the competitive threat
• Contribute to Personal Computer competitive analysis
• Respond to questions and ad-hoc requests from stakeholders and end users - focused analyses, issues with the data, etc.
• Effectively contribute to a Corporate Strategy Business Intelligence network
• Work with counterparts in the market share and market sizing teams
• Work with counterparts supporting computing competitive intelligence within the business unit.
