• Administrative skills in Cloudera environment (certification is a plus)
• BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related subject
• Proven hands-on Software Development experience
• Administrative skills in Java, reading stack trace and understanding java exceptions
• Excellent knowledge of Relational Databases, SQL and ORM technologies (JPA2, Hibernate)
• Administrative skills in the Spring Framework
• Experience with test-driven development
• Experience with Linux servers in virtualized environments
• Familiarity with the fundamentals of Linux scripting languages
• Experience installing, configuring, and maintaining services such as Bind, Apache, MySQL, nginx, etc.
• Strong grasp on configuration management tools, such as Puppet and Chef (o altri)
• Familiarity with load balancing, firewalls, etc.
• Proficient with network tools such as iptables, Linux IPVS, HAProxy, etc. (o altri)
• Experience with virtualization technologies, such as Xen (o altri)
• Ability to build and monitor services on production servers
• Knowledge of servers and switches
• Good command of English both spoken and written
• Ability to travel: mostly Milan, Italy and Iasi, Romania

• Responsible for implementation and ongoing administration of Hadoop infrastructure.
• Aligning with the systems engineering team to propose and deploy new hardware and software environments required for Hadoop and to expand existing environments.
• Working with data delivery teams to setup new Hadoop users. This job includes setting up Linux users, setting up Kerberos principals and testing HDFS, Hive, Pig and MapReduce access for the new users.
• Cluster maintenance as well as creation and removal of nodes using tools like Ganglia,Nagios,Cloudera Manager Enterprise, Dell Open Manage and other tools.
• Performance tuning of Hadoop clusters and Hadoop MapReduce routines.
• Screen Hadoop cluster job performances and capacity planning
• Monitor Hadoop cluster connectivity and security
• Manage and review Hadoop log files.
• File system management and monitoring.
• HDFS support and maintenance.
• Diligently teaming with the infrastructure, network, database, application and business intelligence teams to guarantee high data quality and availability.
• Collaborating with application teams to install operating system and Hadoop updates, patches, version upgrades when required.
