You will be part of MEP & Mechanical design discipline in Arcadis Iasi office, where the team consists of experienced engineers providing consultancy from concept stage to detailed design. Our specialists are aiming for continuous improvement in order to facilitate the development of comfortable and environmentally friendly systems for modern buildings and infrastructure. The group is using the latest software solutions for computer aided engineering and computer aided design in order to provide the highest quality services, varying from 2D drafting and 3D modelling to computing and Building Information Modeling.

The projects that we are shaping cover a large area of expertise. A considerable number of specialists in our office are focusing on installations for buildings, like HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing and Fire Safety. Another enthusiast group is focusing on projects for infrastructure, varying from High Voltage Power and Distribution lines and substations, to street lighting and other municipality utilities. Besides these, a group of Telecommunications specialists are ensuring high quality projects for continental Europe. A special touch is brought by our Mechanical Design team, that is constantly adding value in the design of latest model of agricultural machines and other mechanical equipment produced by our international clients.

Job description

As a designer of secondary and auxiliary systems for HV-substations your jobs consists of engineering the protection and control systems for energy transport and distribution grids with voltages from 5kV up to 380kV.The projects you will be working on will range from engineering new greenfield installation based on current standards to expanding existing installations by analysing and adapting the existing situation in order to align it with the current standards.

You can easily interpret electrical and mechanical schematics of existing installations, current standards, suppliers and electrical contractors as base of the engineering.

This is a full time role. Your main responsibilities will include:

• Work with project team to create all design documents and drawings, including one and three-line diagrams, protection and control schematics, communications diagrams, wiring diagrams, substation layout plan, section and detail drawings and application of mark-ups for project built drawings.
• Specification development for the procurement, installation and testing of substation equipment.
• Apply engineering application software to complete engineering tasks such as ground grid design, equipment sizing, relay coordination, and electrical studies.
• Communicate and coordinate project activities with project lead and team members from other disciplines.

Requirements:

• At least Bachelor Degree (Electrical Engineer or Electromechanical Engineer)
• You have a good knowledge of automation and protection relays
• You have a strong affinity for electrical engineering and willing to continue to build technical expertise.
• You have minimum 3 years of experience in the domain.
• Solid knowledge of specialized software (Eplan Electrical P8, AutoCAD etc.)
• Strong English language skills
• Technical and quality focus
• Great interpersonal skills (team work, supportive attitude, eager to learn, proactivity)
• Professional approach to time, costs, and deadlines
