SENIOR LINUX SYSTEM ADMINISTRATOR

MANDATORY SKILLS / EXPERIENCES:

• 5+ years’ experience in Linux server administration without a degree;
• Solid experience with configuring and tuning Apache web servers and application servers;
• Experience working in a load-balanced web environment;
• Experience with Debian Linux, Centos Linux, Bash scripting, Apache2 & PHP.
• In-depth technical knowledge of securing and hardening network and platform operating systems;
• Experience with best practices in web application security;
• Experience configuring monitoring software;
• Experience with server virtualization a plus;
• Familiar with network routing, switching, TCP/IP addressing design and troubleshooting;
• Experience with server and application troubleshooting in a web application environment;
• Working with centralized management systems (Ansible, Saltstack, etc.);
• Host intrusion detection systems (OSSEC, etc);
• Good knowledge about hypervisors, SANs, LUNs.

Preferred Skills / Experiences:

• Zabbix Configuration
• Experience setting up & maintaining PCI compliant infrastructure.
• Mod_security.
• Perl, Python scripting.
• MySQL administration.
• Cisco ASA firewall, Cisco IPS.
• XenServer management (updates, upgrades, XenMotion)
• HAProxy, Couchbase, distributed storage solutions

Competencies:

• Strong analysis and problem resolution skills;
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast paced environment;
• Can do attitude.

For our client, that offer hotels to consumers via direct traffic and price comparison websites and to travel agents and tour operators, we are looking a SENIOR LINUX SYSTEM ADMINISTRATOR.

It is a fast growing company, and the Software Development Team has multiple software and infrastructure projects running in parallel.


JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• Coordinate and collaborate with network engineering, business application, and database administration function to ensure availability, reliability, and scalability of corporate servers to meet business demands;
• Installation, configuration, testing, and administration of web servers, application servers, and database servers;
• Plan and implement server upgrades, maintenance fixes, and vendor-supplied patches;
• Recommend and execute modifications to server environment in order to improve efficiency, reliability, and performance;
• Contribute to systems incident response and event handling;
• Being part of a team providing 24 hour second-line technical support;
• Recommend and implement policies, procedures, and technologies to ensure server security.
