It would be nice to have experience in one or more of these technologies/fields:

• Virtualization experience across networks;
• Knowledge of high availability technologies such as clustering / replication / mirroring;
• Familiarity with remote administration troubleshooting tools;
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
• Excellent ability to manage customer relationships, their expectations (and define acceptance criteria), and to understand requirements of business and customer to ensure they are translated into technical delivery;
• Italian knowledge.

Person Specification

• Knowledge of English spoken and written at a level sufficient to maintain relationships with colleagues and corporate organizations with which it is connected
• Pro-active person, with the necessary drive to create tools and maintain the Applications capability.
• Relevant degree or above in telecom, IT or electronic engineering.
• Flexible in changing work patterns and demands.
• Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to work within a global, remote workforce.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Ability to work under pressure.

You will:

> Ensure the functionality and performance of the Linux and HPUX systems. Provides support and works toward solving incidents/doing current tasks/solving issues and problems with the purpose of ensuring agreed SLA.
> Develop scripts/programs that help expand the functionalities of IT solutions and automate recurring activities.

In essence, you will:

• Provide Level 2 support for Linux and HPUX and related incidents and problems.
• Ensure that the appropriate systems and applications are installed, configured, monitored, managed and maintained in accordance with the Company’s policy and industry best practice.
• Develops scripts/programs for extending functionality of IT solutions or for automating recurring activities.
• Performs oncall activities according to ROTA.
• Makes technical investigations for performance incidents and examines issues arising in order to determine the causes and provide / propose solutions to solve the identified problems.
• Ensuring all service related events are handled within target SLA – Delivering requested changes, diagnosing problems as 3rd line function and providing complete resolution to customer satisfaction;
• Defines technical requirements, designs, configures and implements solutions that address Linux and HPUX systems.
• Optimize the existing solutions by redefining current systems or by making upgrades to increase efficiency and to meet the new requirements of the business.
• Ensures operation performance parameters as imposed, integrity and security of systems
• Provides active support for transformation programs and other technology refresh programs that are designed to ensure/increase service availability and reduce downtime and increases the quality / performance of these services.
• Perform proactive maintenance activities based on information from tools and automated alerts and notifications.
