    Requirements

    Experience Required

    • Good knowledge in administration of Oracle databases in a production environment;
    • Good knowledge of further Oracle database options like i.e. RAC, Data Guard, GRID Control
    • Experience in working with UNIX, SQL;
    • Experience in working with Oracle Database and;
    • Experience in working with Oracle Exadata will be a plus;
    • Analytic thinking, problem solving attitude;

    And it would be nice to have experience in one or more of these technologies/fields:
    Knowledge about PL/SQL, BASH scripting, MS SQL Server, MySQL – nice to have;
    Knowledge of high availability technologies such as clustering / replication / mirroring;
    Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
    Italian knowledge.

    Person Specification
    • Knowledge of English spoken and written at a level sufficient to maintain relationships with colleagues and corporate organizations with which it is connected
    • Pro-active person, self-motivated;
    • Relevant degree or above in telecom, IT or electronic engineering.
    • Flexible in changing work patterns and demands.

    Responsibilities

    Job Responsibilities

    Provide Level 2 support for Oracle and related incidents and problems.
    • Analyze and resolve problem reports within Key Performance Indicator targets;
    • Maintain application availability within own area of responsibility;
    • Operate within the customer business processes and procedures;
    • Interact with development, customer, other back office & front office teams to drive problem resolution;
    • Maintain the Database functioning within proposed performance parameters;
    • Manage database related refresh and decommissioning programs whilst maintaining the highest level of Service availability to internal customers;
    • Create maintenance plans for the administrated databases;
    • Proactively execute maintenance activities based on maintenance plans, alerts and notifications;
    • Perform data retrieval from managed databases in case of disaster or incident affecting data integrity;
    • Ensuring all service related events are handled within target SLA
    • Makes technical investigations for performance incidents and examines issues arising in order to determine the causes and provide / propose solutions to solve the identified problems.
    • Performs oncall activities according to ROTA.

    Team Description & Purpose of Role

    As DB Administrator, you will ensure the services are operated within parameters agreed with the customer. You will frequently interact with customer representatives and other Ericsson departments within a multinational environment to jointly define technical solutions to the problems that arise during service operation. The Database Administrator is primarily responsible to analyze and troubleshoot incidents and problems to restore service with minimal impact and to deliver solutions improving service levels and overall customer satisfaction.
