Infrastructure Database Architect

- Oracle SQL knowledge
- Oracle Performance Tuning knowledge
- Oracle Enterprise Manager (Grid Cloud Control) knowledge
- Understanding of networking concepts and architectures
- Linux system or network administration experience
- External Storage concepts and architectures
- Knowledge of (Java) Application Servers architecture/administration
- Knowledge about Data warehousing systems
- Oracle/Microsoft licensing policy knowledge

- Design technical solutions for the database systems based on company requirements
- Develops database solutions by defining database physical structure and functional capabilities, security, back-up, and recovery specifications
- Conduct conceptual activities within this area of expertise
- Evaluate alternative database solutions to fit into the parameters required
- Think about the strategy (technologies, architectures) in the area of Database and make suggestions to Enterprise Architect Management
- Work closely with the other IT processes and areas of expertise (Infrastructure, Development, Operation,) to support future enhancements and provide guidance
- Collaborate effectively with other operational Oracle DBAs, developers, infrastructure teams and external customers to resolve problems with application/database systems.
- Act as internal and external contact person within the database area of expertise; cooperate in internal working groups (e.g. proposal decision meetings, steering committee, project round table, IT process meetings, etc.)
- Travel in Germany in a limited measure

Profile:
- At least 3 years experience in Oracle Core DBA with various recent DB releases (11g, 12c)
- At least 1 year experience in database Architecture
- At least 8 years overall IT experience
- Must be versed in the technologies, architectures and implementation issues at the database layer
- Strong knowledge about database administration and deployment (Oracle 11g/12c and Microsoft SQL Server 2008/2012)
- Good knowledge of Oracle Data Guard and other High Available architectures for Oracle Database
- Experience of working with Replication technologies (Oracle Streams, Oracle Golden Gate, others)
- Experience of working with Red Hat Linux or Oracle Enterprise Linux
- Strong analytical skills and some experience in developing models
- Strong ability to work in team and interacting with other teams.
- The ability to understand the links between Database and Applications on one side and OS/Network/Storage on the other side
- English language
